EdD, MS, LPC-Intern, MHCA, NCC, CRC

I experienced and witnessed the stress which public service can have on a person during my fifteen years working for an agency, in administration and wildland firefighting training and dispatch. This motivated me to seek my master’s in counseling as a way to assist clients in identifying and fostering their own strengths. These strengths can be used to help clients better cope with stress and thrive not only in work, but in all aspects of life.

I have been a partner in two trade related ventures. Similar to public safety, the trades can be grueling work with high levels of stress and risk. These experiences have provided me a better understanding of the stressors of being an employer and an employee in the trades.

As a counselor and trainer, I have worked with diverse clientele ranging from 14-year-old high school students to 60-year-old firefighters. Regardless of the setting, I have found people share the desire to be accepted, respected, and serve a purpose.

I received two Bachelors of Arts from University of Oregon. I hold a certificate from Portland Community College in addictions studies. My Masters of Science from Portland State University is in clinical rehabilitation counseling. From University of Western States, I was awarded my Doctorate of Education in Sport and Performance Psychology. I became a certified first responder counselor by successfully completing an Academy Hour continuing education 40-hour course.

I am registered as a National Certified Counselor through the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) and I hold a Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling certification (CRC) from the national Commission of Rehabilitation Counselor Certification (CRCC). I am a member of the Association for Sport & Performance Psychology (AASP).

I am registered as a licensed professional counselor intern (LPC-Intern #R4844) with the Oregon Board of Licensed Professional Counselors and Therapists. I am licensed as a mental health counselor associate (MHCA credential # MC61047955) with State of Washington Department of Health. I abide by the Codes of Ethics of the national and state associations/boards of which I am a member/registered. I am under the ongoing supervision of David A. Pulliam, MS, LPC, LMHC, MAC. I will be happy to explain or provide more information about internship supervision.
