Mental Health Expert Heather Glenn
Mental Health Counseling and Career Counseling in Beaverton, Oregon.
Certified MS, LPC Intern, NCC, CRC
I experienced and witnessed the strain that public service can have on a person during my fifteen years working for a public agency in administration and wildland fire fighting training and dispatch.
This motivated me to seek my
master’s in counseling
as a means to assist people in identifying their own skills and abilities to help them thrive not only in work, but in all aspects of life.
I received two Bachelor of Arts degrees from University of Oregon. I hold a certificate from Portland Community College in drug and alcohol .counseling. My master’s degree from Portland State University is in clinical rehabilitation counseling.
I have yet to meet a person whose life has not been affected by substance abuse (either theirs or loved ones) and/or chronic illness or injury (either theirs or loved ones). These universal issues informed my graduate education choices and have served to be invaluable in practice.
Career Development Counselor and Life Coach
I have been a partner in two trade related ventures. Similar to public safety, the trades can be grueling work with high levels of stress and risk. This experience has enabled be to provide a real understanding when it comes to vocational counseling.
As a mental health and career development counselor, I have worked with diverse clientele as a drug and alcohol counseling intern, a generalist, and a vocational rehabilitation intern. Regardless of the setting I have found that all people share the desire to be accepted, respected, and serve a purpose.
Registered as a National Certified Counselor through the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) and I hold a Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling certification (CRC) from the national Commission of Rehabilitation Counselor Certification (CRCC).
Registered with the Oregon Board of Licensed Professional Counselors and Therapists I abide by its Code of Ethics. My registered intern number is R4844. I am under the ongoing supervision of David A. Pulliam MS, LPC, LMHC, MAC. I will be happy to explain or provide more information about internship supervision.
